Terms of Use Privacy Policy Cookie Policy
Please read before using any training content. Tree Safety Institute is a training documentation and compliance tool — not a substitute for hands-on instruction, professional supervision, or applicable law. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal, medical, or professional safety advice.

Not Medical Advice

Content related to first aid, emergency response, and injury treatment — including all courses in the Arborist First Responder Field Guide (FRFG) program — is provided for general educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed physician, emergency medical professional, or other qualified healthcare provider.

Never delay seeking professional medical attention because of something you read or learned on this platform. In an emergency, call 911 immediately.

Not a Substitute for In-Person CPR or First Aid Certification

Any CPR, AED, or first aid content on this platform is supplemental educational material only. It is not a replacement for hands-on, instructor-led CPR or first aid certification courses from recognized organizations such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or similar certifying bodies.

Proper CPR technique requires hands-on practice and feedback from a qualified instructor. Employees who may be expected to perform CPR in an emergency should complete a recognized in-person certification course and maintain current certification through that program. A Tree Safety Institute certificate does not constitute CPR certification.

Not a Substitute for On-the-Job Supervision and Training

Online coursework, toolbox talks, and written materials delivered through this platform supplement — but do not replace — direct, on-the-job supervision and hands-on instruction from experienced professionals.

Tree care operations involve serious hazards including falls from height, electrical contact, struck-by incidents, and chainsaw injuries. No online training can substitute for direct field supervision, mentorship, and employer-provided safety programs conducted by qualified personnel. Completion of an online module does not qualify an employee to perform hazardous work independently.

OSHA and Regulatory Compliance

This platform is designed to assist companies in documenting safety training as part of a broader compliance program. Use of this platform and completion of courses by your employees does not guarantee compliance with OSHA standards, state plan regulations, or any other federal, state, or local laws governing workplace safety.

Employers are solely responsible for ensuring their safety programs meet all applicable regulatory requirements. Tree Safety Institute is not a compliance authority and does not provide legal advice. Consult a qualified safety professional or legal counsel for guidance specific to your operations and jurisdiction.

ANSI Z133 Alignment

Course content described as aligned to the ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations is intended for educational reference based on the 2017 published edition of that standard. Tree Safety Institute is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), or any standards body.

Standards are updated periodically. Always consult the current published edition of ANSI Z133 for authoritative requirements. Training certificates issued through this platform do not indicate certification under ANSI Z133 or any other formal standard.

Equipment and Techniques

Descriptions of tools, equipment, rigging systems, chainsaw operation, and other work techniques are educational in nature and describe general industry practice. Actual equipment selection, inspection, maintenance, and use must be performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable standards, and the judgment of qualified, experienced personnel on-site.

Tree Safety Institute assumes no liability for outcomes resulting from the application of any technique or use of any equipment described in platform content.

No Warranty on Content Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that training content is accurate, current, and aligned with applicable industry standards. However, we make no representation that content is complete, error-free, or current at the time of your use. Industry standards and regulatory requirements change. We reserve the right to update, modify, or remove content at any time without notice.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TREE SAFETY INSTITUTE, LLC, ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND CONTENT PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR OTHER LOSS OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM THE USE OF — OR RELIANCE ON — ANY CONTENT, COURSE, TOOLBOX TALK, INCIDENT REPORT TEMPLATE, OR OTHER MATERIAL DELIVERED THROUGH THIS PLATFORM.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
